The Second MENA Regional Engineering Education Conference features Dr. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas of the CAA-UAE and Dr. Michael Milligan of ABET as keynote speakers, along with a number of distinguished speakers from the MENA region. Topics include engineering education in te metaverse, experiential learning, employability of engineering graduates, sustainability education, and climate change within the curricula.
Building upon the success of the earlier global editions of "Rising to the Top", the conference features the launching of the sixth edition of the book: MENA Region and Arab World. Rising to the Top is a publication where inspirational female leaders in engineering share their compelling journeys in what is often seen as a male-dominated field. For engineers to solve the grand challenges facing humanity, the field needs all talent to continue to be innovative and inclusive for the advancement of all members of society. The sixth edition includes stories by women leaders from the Middle East and North Africa. By openly sharing their personal journeys in these pages, the authors hope to not only inspire the next generation of engineering leaders, but also provide valuable insight into the challenges facing women engineers around the world, and the opportunities that are theirs for the taking.
